Sam Douglas is in his third year overall as Head Softball Coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). He is no stranger to Hawk Athletics, as this is his second stint as Head Coach of the softball program. More recently, Douglas was the first assistant under then head coach Kirkland Hall from 2004-06.
Douglas was both the Head Soccer Coach and Assistant Softball Coach at UMES from 1991-97. He was promoted to Head Softball Coach in 1998. In that position Douglas was responsible for directing all aspects of the program including the organizing and planning of team practices, recruitment, scheduling, budgeting, and team travel.
The Hamilton Parish, Bermuda native received his Bachelor's Degree from UMES in 1991. He is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Education at Wilmington University.
