VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Tanisha Wisdom earned her third nod for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athlete of the Week the conference announced on January 30. Wisdom earned the award for her performance at the Great Dane Classic. Wisdom provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a first-place time of 54.37 in the 400-meter dash. She also ran the anchor leg of two team events, the 4x400-meter relay team and the distance medley relay (DMR). In the 4x400 the team took first place with a time of 3:47.66 while the DMR team posted a third place finish with a time of 12:14.19. That time was impressive as it set a new school record. The team as a whole did well, taking fourth place in the 20 team field. Amon Kiprotich finished second in the 3,000-meter run, setting a personal record of 8:37.64. For that accomplishment he was noted by the MEAC as an `Other Top Performer.' Wisdom and the Hawks are back inaction this weekend at Yale. |
